The Church
God’s Church is not a building, it is the people in
the building that makes it Church. We are God’s
Church, when we come together in the name of Jesus.
“If two or three come together in My name, He will
be there also.” The Church is not a building but it
is the presence of God, that makes it a church. All
of the other gatherings do not make it a church,
because God’s presence is not there.
If you go to a Lion’s Club meeting they will greet you and give you a Bulletin. They will open with a prayer. They will sing some hymns. They will make announcements. They will take a offering, to help the needy. They will read a Scripture. They will also ask you to join their Club. Then they will close with a prayer. That is what most churches will do at their meetings, but there is a big difference, God is not presence. There are some churches that the presence of God could not be found. There are many religions that worship a god, but God’s presence is not found there. There was a young lady who was invited to church, by a co-worker. She got saved that day. She went home to where she was living with a man. She started packing her things and the man asked her, “what are you doing.” She said “I am moving out. I went to church, and I got saved. I could feel God’s presence in the singing and I cannot live In sin.” No one had said anything about her living arrangement. She knew in her heart that it was a sin. The man said, ”I would like to see this.” So he came to church the next week, and when the worship starts, the man started to get sick. He felt like he was going to throw up. He turned to his girl friend, who was saved one week, he said to her “I have to leave, I am getting sick. She said to the man “shut up, it’s a Demon.” The man thought to himself “that makes sense.” He stoped believing the lie. All of a sudden, he started to feel God too. He knew he was a sinner; he knew he was going to Hell; he knew he needed to be saved. He told his girl friend, that he needed to get saved. She said to him that the pastor will greet the Visitors and say “if you want to get saved, you come down front and we will pray with you.” That week there was a guest speaker. The Pastor got up to welcome all of the visitors. When he said visitor, the man got up and walked to the front. The pastor said, “can I help you.” The man said “yes sir, I am a visitor.” The Pastor said again “can I help you.” The man said “yes sir, I am a visitor; and I am a sinner; I am going to hell; and I need to be saved; I am a visitor.” To him the members were saved and the visitors were going to hell, and needed to be saved. The Pastor led him to Jesus. There was a couple that were in town to take their 8 year old daughter to a clinic. She had a disease that no one was able to help her. After many tests where performed on her, the doctors said that there was nothing they could do. They suggested that they do something together over the weekend and to come back to the clinic on Monday. They visited a church in that town. They enjoyed the service, but they did not ask for prayer for their daughter. On Monday there were more tests for their daughter and the doctors were puzzled with some of the results. They did more tests on Tuesday and again on Wednesday also. They told the parents that they did not know what had happened, but there was no signs of the disease in there daughter. She was healed by the presence of God in that service. It does not matter if we are in a football stadium, or in a home gathering, or a chapel. What makes it a church is that we gather in the name of Jesus, and God’s presence will be there. It is God’s presence that makes the gathering of people a church. We His people are gathering in the name of Jesus, that makes us His church. God said to be planted in the house of God, then we will flourish and bear fruit. God’s presence will be there because we have gathered in the name of Jesus. ––––––––––––––––––––––––––– New King James Version Hebrews 10:25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
